Removals in Europe are generally carried out by road, with short lead times.
For the rest of the world, there are two options:
Visit air freight This is used for small volumes, from 1 to 3 m3, but beware of the weight. The advantage lies in very short delivery times, but the cost is high. Please note that when transporting goods by air, it may be forbidden to ship them together (in the same box). Your mover is well aware of the constraints associated with this type of freight.
Visit ocean freight : This is the way moving transport the most common. It is preferred for larger volumes, up to 40' high cube containers (approx. 69 m3). Delivery times generally range from 2 to 6 weeks, depending on destination.
Your mover will advise you on which products are prohibited in certain countries.
Once your belongings have been perfectly packed and secured in the container, what happens during the transportation of your sea move?
Once the container has been sealed, it leaves directly for the port. Your removal company provides the shipping company with the information needed to draw up the bill of lading, including the seal numbers.
Embarkation confirmation: as soon as you receive your embarkation confirmation, your mover will inform you.
The shipping company confirms to your mover the safe arrival of your belongings at the port of destination. You are informed and your mover's local correspondent can proceed with customs clearance and delivery.
Delivery: the local correspondent, a partner or member of your mover's network, comes to your new home to deliver your move. Using the packing list drawn up at the start of the move, he unloads the fragile and non-fragile boxes, reassembles the furniture and sets it in place according to your instructions. Note that labeling at the point of departure will help you organize unpacking.
You've arrived! You've certainly made the right choice!
